Day 8: Zimbabwe and ZANE

Many of you kindly donated money on the house party to ZANE; a charity called Zimbabwe a National Emergency. Today we’re going to find out a little bit more about what they do. Take a look at this video:

As you hopefully agree, the money that we donated to ZANE will go to a very worthwhile cause and make a real difference to people in great need. So thank you for your generosity!

If you’d like to read more about where your money is going to, take a look at ZANE’s website. Giving money to charity is one of the ways we can serve Christ’s church. We may not be able to practically help many people in need far away, but giving money generously is one way we can have a wider impact, and make use of the financial resources that we are blessed with. Giving of our time and other skills is equally worthwhile.

Perhaps reflect today on what you give to charities, and any other ways that you’re involved in volunteering and charitable activities. If you’re earning or are responsible for your own money, do you give a proportion of your income that you’re happy with? Are there ways that you could get involved in volunteering in the new academic year?
